ROUGE'S SPRING FLING SHOW
Welcome to the first Spring Fling show hosted by Rouge!
This show is now judged, you can find the placings in the link above. Please contact me via note to claim prizes.
DEADLINE
May 31st, 2017 at Midnight Pacific Time
Anything submitted after that time will not be accepted.
There will be no extension, will run no matter the amount of entries.
SHOW INFORMATION
• Location is Rouge Mountain Stables, in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, USA
• Weather is very unreliable, a typical spring on the west coast. It can be raining one minute then sunny the next, and ten minutes later hailing.
• Fresh spring flowers and greenery will be all over the grounds to keep things bright and comfortable.
• Banners for Rouge's affiliates and competitor groups will be hung up on the walls
RULES
• Full show entries required, Riders or Handlers must be shown.
• Backgrounds are required, see the facilities link for references. If any questions please ask!
• All work must be new, no re-used linearts. Collabs and commissions are welcome as long as they follow the rules!
• Tracing is allowed but PLEASE be honest and list your reference.
• Open to all breeds, powers or mutations (wings etc.,) will not gain or hurt score.
• Same horse can only enter the class once, multiple entries in the same image are allowed but both must be 90% visible. (IE; 2 horses shown in a rail class)
• The same handler can enter multiple horses unless it is a rail class where everyone rides at once. (IE; Western Pleasure, Hunt, etc)
• Owner may enter, but will not place first (unless only entry) or qualify for any titles. Will be judged by friend. (yet to be decided)
CLASSES
5 Classes Total
• Performance Halter
-To be eligable for this class horse must enter at least one of the other classes. (Foals can enter In Hand Trail, obstacles will be easier)
-Will be divided into Stallion, Mare & Youngstock classes if at least 3 entries per sub category
-Horse is to be shown at the walk, trot, or squared up for inspection. Handler must be shown fully
-May be shown "Western" Halter or Hunter in Hand style
-Horse & Handler should be turned out to the max. Leather halters with bling or clean leather bridles with snaffle, hair can be banded, horse must be clean and presentable, and handler must be wearing well fitted show clothes with long sleeves, pants and boots
-If classes split, each winner from the sub categories will be judged against each other to determine champions
• Western Pleasure
-Horse is to be shown at any stage in a pleasure class; walk, jog, lope, hand gallop, halt, or backing
-Full show turnout encouraged. Silver blingy tack, well fitted show clothes, manes may be banded, clean legs with no protection
-May show more than one entry in single image, but both must be 90% visible.
• Hunter Under Saddle
-Horse to be shown at any stage of the rail class; walk, trot, lope, hand gallop, backing, or halt
-Clean tack and show clothes required; boots, breeches, hunt coat, and hunt cap
-Manes may be banded and tails plated to achieve a cleaner look
-May show more than one entry in single image, but both must be 90% visible.
• Trail
-Horse to be shown navigating any sort of obstacle; trot/lope poles, wooden bridges, gates, small water obstacles, raised poles, small jumps, ditches, cavalettis, etc.
-May be shown Western, English, or In Hand (if enough entries will subdivide upon judging); full show turnout required for both.
-Only one horse per entry
• Dressage
-Horse to be shown at some point in a Dressage test; can be any level as long as the horse is trained for it
-Correct tack and clothing required; riders can opt for a helmet if they wish
-Dressage ring will be set up inside of an indoor arena
• Freestyle
-Horse to be shown doing anything they are trained for
-Full show turnout required for what disciple is shown
-Full use of any of Rouge's arenas; two indoor, grass outdoor, sand outdoor, cross country course
-There will sadly be no racing events as Rouge is not equipped with a track
-Must follow all other rules
-May show more uncommon disciplines, if your horse needs more training in a certain discipline, or you want to show off your horses skills this is your chance
-If there are enough similar entries they will be subdivided upon judging
EXTRAS
You will have free reign of Rouge's grounds, minus the home and Youngstock/Stallion barns and across the river. Extras can earn you a little boost for points towards your horses class entries. There is a maximum of two extra images per horse. If the horse is entering multiple classes your two extras will count towards all classes, no need to create multiple extras per class.
• You may show your horses/riders:
-Arriving, pre-show rides, warm-ups, after class cool downs, grooming, exploring the grounds, hand grazing, enjoying small temporary paddocks, etc,
-Multiple horses/riders can be shown in the same extra image
• Points Breakdown
-Each extra must be at least half body and flat colored to gain points
-Extra detail is greatly appreciated but wont get you extra points (but may help achieve Honorable Mention Titles)
-Each extra is 3 points, with maximum of 2 images for a total of 6 extra points towards the horses entry.

• 1st through 5th ribbon for every class if applicable
• 1st place winners are also class champion
• Champion for Halter class if there are enough entries to split the class
• Grand and Reserve Champions for the whole show
• Honorable Mention Title TBA (High Point or Judges Choice most likely)
-Grand Champion to receive 75, trophy & ribbon sash, 2 custom designs and simple winners circle image
-Reserve Champion to receive 50, trophy & ribbon sash, plus simple winners circle image
-1st Place winners to receive 10 & ribbon

My kid is 1.5 now and absolutely wild. She's a crazy kid and I love it. She's obsessed with horses and getting pony rides. I can't wait till she's big enough to actually start learning to ride. She's a ball of sass and such pay back for when I was a kid! I've loved every minute of watching her grow though.

So sorry I've been MIA for so long. It's been a crazy year. Having a kid really consumes your time. And it's my last year of college. I finish this spring then do an internship. Then off to find a job in the IT field.

Welcome to the Spring into Summer show hosted by Rouge! This show should help its participants get back into the swing of showing and get ready for all the big shows. Schooling show season is over and now it's time for the real thing. Come on out to the west coast and put your hard work on the line! With multiple arena's running classes all day, this two-day event will be a big one with lots of competitors and top notch horses coming out.
