The battle of the countries has begun! Rouge has opened up the ranch for it's first full blown show! After the success of their schooling show the team has decided to put on a show with a rather fun theme ending on Friday, the 4th of July! It is a week long show packed full of fun classes and friendly rivalries. Who will come out on top? Will the USA reign supreme on their of independence day? Or could the UK tack back over! Or could Germany surprise everyone and take the trophy? Who knows!

Show Grounds

The show will utilize all four of Rouges arenas in some way, as well as the cross country course set up. The large pasture behind the xc course is open for camping and the corrals will be available on a first come first serve basis.

Main and Secondary Arena's have mirrors up in sections, and will be decorated with hanging plants.
Outdoor arena is three-board white fenced with a full-size Dressage block and rail arena set up on the inside and nice sand footing.
Grass arena has same three-board white fencing around, will well maintained green grass footing.
Sponsor banners will be hung on walls of indoor arenas and along outer walls of the stables, visible from outdoor arenas.
Judges will either be in viewing boxes, central viewing platform, on on the ground depending on arena and class.




Rules


:bulletred: All entries must show horse and riders completely, unless blocked by obstacle or other animal.(barrels, cows, jumps)
:bulletred: All art must be new, created specifically for this show by horses owner, lessee, or the commissioned.
:bulletred: No line-arts, pre-made, or reused work of any kind is allowed. Art must be new and completely created for this show.
:bulletred: Horse & riders must follow class rules or risk DQ.
:bulletred: List all needed information in the description of entry. Entry's lacking information at judging will be DQ'd.
:bulletred: Unnatural horses are accepted but powers will not be allowed. Nothing that gives any sort of edge will be allowed. Glowing markings, auras, etc are ok.

Schedule & Classes

Sunday
-Arrival, set up, settling in.

Monday

Halter

Halter will be sectioned up into Stallion, Mare, & Foal. If enough geldings enter they will get a class, if not will be joined with mares. Class will take place in the grass arena outside in the morning. Handlers must be at least 12 for up to two year olds, 15 for mares and geldings, and 18 for stallions. Horses will be shown in only a halter at either a walk, trot, or set up. Horses will be set up according to breed standards (Stock horses square, arabs  extended, etc). Handler can be either english or western attire, semi-formal at least.

Liberty

Liberty will be held in the main arena while halter classes are going on, but in alternating orders. Horses will be turned lose into the main arena to run free. Judges will be on the ground. Handler can be in the arena with stick to encourage. Horse may be show doing anything. Hair is to be kept natural and down, but cut to breed standards.

Showmanship

Class will be held in secondary arena after lunch. Cones will be set up for a predetermined course. Judges will be on foot. Handlers must be 15 for mares and geldings, and 18 for stallions. With enough entries will be divided the same. Handler will work in hand through the course. Horses may be shown walk, trot, stop, back up, haunch turn, forehand turn, or during inspection. Horses will be in only a halter, no restrictions on hair. Semi-formal western or english attire at least.

Lunge-line

Class will be held in main arena after lunch while Showmanship goes on. Class is for horses up to two years old and can be handled by those as young as 12. Horses will be shown on a lunge line at walk, trot, canter, turns, and stop. Judges will be in viewing box. Only a halter and line can be used, no restrictions on hair. Semi-formal western or english attire at least.

Trick

Trick class will be held in main arena early evening. Handlers will show off what their horses know and how well they listen. Anything can be done within the two minute class. Handlers must follow age rules, no restrictions otherwise. Can add music selection if desired.


Tuesday

Trail

Trail will be held in the morning in the grass outdoor arena. Several obstacles will be set up, riders will guide their mount through the course as neatly as possible. Only two refusals allowed before rider must pass the obstacle. Any suitable tack may be used, with rider matching. You can go through in an english saddle and attire if you so desire to prove your dressage mount can do trail. Obstacles will include but not limited to; bridge, water crossing, cowboy curtain, gates, log crossings, and tunnels. At least 3/4 of an obstacle must be shown.

Show Jumping

Class will be held in the main arena in the morning. A 14 jump course is set up. Horse & riders will work through the course as quickly as possible with no faults. Appropriate tack and attire must be used. Judges will be in viewing box. At least 50% of jump must be shown.

Pleasure

Pleasure class will be held in outdoor arena after lunch. With enough entries class will be split between english and western pleasure. Horses will be asked to walk, trot, lope, and reverse as well as a final line up and can be shown doing any of these. Proper tack and attire must be used for the specific style you chose (english or western).

Barrel Racing

Barrels will be set up on a full pattern in the secondary arena after lunch. Time laser will be set up on the west end of arena. Riders will try to run the pattern as fast as possible. Appropriate tack must be used, attire can be more casual. At least one blue barrel must be shown, or poles holding laser timer.

Reining

Reining will be held in the main arena early evening. Riders will compete in a predetermined pattern as strongly and cleanly as possible. Horses can be shown in collected canter, extended canter, run down, slide, back up, rollback, or lead changes. Judges will be in viewing box. Appropriate tack and attire must be worn. Any western attire is acceptable.


Wednesday

Pole Bending

Class will be set up in secondary arena in the morning. Laser time will be on west end of arena. Horse and rider will run down, turn back and weave through the poles, turn and weave again, then run back past the timer. Goal is for the fastest time and no poles knocked over. Appropriate tack must be used, attire can be casual. At least one red and white pole must be shown, or poles holding laser timer.

Dressage

Class will be held in outdoor arena in the morning. It is slightly misty with morning dew and a small chill, but sun comes out shortly. Class is open to all levels, and all levels will compete equally. Horses can be shown in any move, even saluting. Music selection must be included in description. Proper tack and attire must be worn. Young horses may be shown in only a snaffle, older must have double bridle.

Saddleseat & Gaited

Class will be held in the main arena after lunch. Judges will be on platform in center of arena. Appropriate tack and attire must be worn. Gaited horses must be show in correct gaits, non-gaited in walk, trot, canter. All can be shown in lineup. Will be separated gaited and non with enough entries.

:new: Ranch Sorting

Team of two riders will enter a pen with 11 calves numbered 0-9 with one blank. Once they cross the line they will begin sorting the calves in sequential order until only the blank cow is left. Once that cow cross the fault line the time ends. Team of two will work together to cut and sort the calves in correct order without any escaping or crossing the fault line out of order. Correct western tack is required, at least casual western attire for riders. Both horses and riders must be shown, allowing for 50% of the pair to be covered by pen or calves. At least one calf must be shown 3/4's. 

Freestyle

Will be held in main arena early evening. Class is freestyle, meaning you can show your horse doing anything you want. Do they have a specific thing they do for breed? Show it here! Or maybe your horse competes in uncommon classes like Mounted archery or shooting, even jousting. Show it here! This is very much a showcase of individual horses. Maybe they compete Haute Ecole, or can preform the Airs and high level dressage moves. This class is anything and everything that you want it to be. Can compete in teams or individual, even full drill teams! Or maybe you just want to do two entries of one class, a second can be shown here.

Thursday

Cutting

Held in the secondary arena in the morning. A herd of calves will be on the west end of arena. Horse and rider will be assigned first cow to cut, two others can be chosen after assigned is successfully cut. Horse and rider will move quietly through the herd and cut the assigned calf or one of their choice from the herd and keep it cut until they deem the cut efficient. Some calves are more panicky than others and will gain more points than a lazy calf. Proper tack must be work, and casual attire with leather chaps worn. At least one claf must be 3/4 visible.

Hunter

Will be held in main arena in the morning. Class is a brief showcase of hunter classes; working hunter, hunt seat, hunter hack, etc. Small set of jumps will be available for needed classes. Proper tack and attire must be worn. Jumping will be done without martingales. If choosing to show jumping portion jump must be 50% visible.

Driving

Held in the main arena after lunch. Both individual driving and team allowed, pleasure or heavy. Cart and harness choice up to driver. Horses will be shown walk, trot, turns, and backing up. Driver attire must be clean and presentable but does not need to be formal. Any hitch set up is allowed. Cart or wagon must be at least 50% visible.

Cross Country

Course will be ran in the afternoon on the grounds own course in the sunshine. Horse and rider must use correct tack and be wearing protective gear. Jumps may include hedges, ditches, and water jumps. Design is up to you. Flaggers will be near each jump in case of emergency. Easy jumps will be available if the rider so chooses. At least one jump must be 50% visible.

Three Day Eventing

Those wishing to compete in three day eventing will have to enter each individual class. Entries will be judged individually for that class, as well as for 3DE if all entries are submitted. Meaning, not only can you win the 3DE class but you could possible win the three individual classes as well. All three classes are required to place in Eventing portion.


Friday

Patriot Games!

Essentially, this is a costume class. It will be held in the main arena just after lunch. Each entrant is encouraged to dress themselves and their horses up in a theme befitting of their country. For US competitors they can wear anything historical, be it civial war era or dressing as a famous american. Other country competitors get a chance to show of their country's history and culture in front of the crowd. Show us you country pride! Then sit back and relax for a lovely fireworks display that evening along with a good old fashioned BBQ.

Extra Images!

Extra images can be done to gain a small amount of points. Only two extra images are accepted with each a chance to gain 3 points, for a total of 6 possible extra points. Extra images can be anything a headshot, training, arrivals, inspections, warm ups, or down time. Link the extra image to every entry for that horse! If it is linked in one entry but not a second it will only add points to the one it's linked in!

Judging

-10 points possible for correct tack & attire
-10 points possible for correct setting
-10 points possible for quality
-10 points possible for creativity
-10 points possible for story
-6 points possible for extra images
-4 points possible for full or extra obstacles(full/extra jumps, extra calves, barrels, poles)
-5 points possible for advertising (journal, pole, deviation. Only one counts for 5 points)
Total: 110 points possible
My own horses will be entered but can gain no more than a total of 65 points and will not be in running for Grand, Reserve, or Game winners.
Eventing will be scored the average of all three individual classes.

So i was going to do a cross country entry.. but i ended up deciding against it because it did not turn out good enough to be entered in a competition haha.. so yeah. I'm just doing this entry and then my other Dressage entry.
