Dat Purp

Amelia couldn't help it, when she saw the purple ear cover on Foxy she just had to run with it. It was easy enough finding a pad and boots in purple, the bell boots had to be ordered as well as her vest and a helmet cover. But when it all came in and she got a chance to try it on the cream and white mare it looked awesome. At first she was thinking about going maroon with her color but the purple just made her look cool and a bit silly at the same time. Though Foxy was not particularly excited about her new gear. Amelia just had to put this all to use now...

Foxy was entered in a show with a bunch of other Rouge horses, a big ordeal for the ranch but one they would accomplish without a hitch nonetheless. Foxy was signed up for both Cross Country and Show Jumping, her two favorite things. The large mare was excited and ready that morning, seeming to lock into that work gear and focusing. Amelia was riding her, like she was with most of the horses, unwilling to let others ride her horses. They cruised through a short warm-up together, flying over some jumps and not having a problem. Foxy was doing wonderful today, it could only make for a great run.

When their time came Amelia was a bit nervous, she took a deep breath and relaxed, allowing herself to focus and keep Foxy calm. They entered the box for the final countdown then took off. The first few jumps were a bit iffy as they worked to get into a groove for the entire run. Foxy was excited and a bit anxious which made her lose focus a little here and there. About halfway through the course was a large uphill run and staggered all along it were smaller banked jumps, like steps. Foxy seemed to cruise right through them, not even hesitating. She still had a bit of a skip when it came to visible ditches under the jumps but for her first run in a large competition she did amazing.

When they finally rounded the last corner and final jump Amelia was happy. For her first outing aboard Foxy she did really great. She had flown over all the jumps, knocking her back legs on only a few jumps. Overall Amelia was pretty happy with the run. She hopped off the big overo and patted her neck, letting the mare rub her head on her in an obnoxious manner a little bit like she loved to do before pushing her away.
